Mission and Temple Checklist

Before you submit your mission papers
- Be interviewed by your bishop
- Open your mission portal and begin your application with the assistance of your bishop
- Prayerfully talk to your parents and set an availability date
- Attend missionary preparation weekly
- Use Preach My Gospel in your daily scripture study; study each individual scripture reference listed
- Read the BOOK OF MORMON
- Attend and complete the temple preparation class – Coordinate with your Bishop
- Receive the Melchizedek Priesthood after high school graduation – needs to be done before you enter the MTC
- Receive temple endowment after graduation – needs to be done before you enter the MTC
- Receive Patriarchal Blessing – Need interview from your bishop
- Be interviewed by your bishop and complete your missionary application (double check all documents are completed, have needed signatures including all doctors forms, etc.)
- Picture MUST be missionary dress and grooming standards – Shoulders and above with a plain background, no glamour shots
- Be interviewed by your stake president & submit your mission application
After you have received your mission call
- Continue to read the BOOK OF MORMON
- Attend the temple regularly
- Serve in the temple reularly is able
- Have a final interview with the Stake President and be set apart as a full-time missionary by the Stake President
Additional Important Information:
- Separate interviews are needed for priesthood, temple, and mission
- Priesthood interview with the bishop and the stake president – the stake president interview cannot be scheduled until the bishop interview is done. Plan to do interviews over a couple of weeks 2 to 3 weeks before the date you plan on being ordained
- Temple recommend interviews with the bishop and the stake president – the stake president interview cannot be scheduled until you have met with your bishop. Contact Brother Steve Hamblin (Stake Executive Secretary) to schedule. Complete this 1 to 2 weeks before you plan on going to the temple.
- PLAN AHEAD! Do not procrastinate as your bishop and stake president may not always be available last minute. Do your interviews and plan on 2 to 3 weeks to get them all done for each individual task (mission, priesthood, and temple)
