• Apply to multiple colleges or vocational schools – most are free
  • Fill out the FASFA form now even though you won’t be going to school this fall. Most scholarships require this. Parents will also need to provide information on this application.
  • Accept your scholarships, create college ID’s and write the down so you or your parents can access them.
  • Meet with Mrs. Swenson at the high school about SHS and other scholarships.
  • Look for scholarships through the universities or schools where you have been accepted.
  • After you receive your call go through each university or school to defer your admissions and scholarchips.
  • Ensure that you have filled out the needed parent permission forms so your parents can talk to each university.
  • When you return home fill out the current year’s FASFA application, find housing, and go through the university to come out of deferment and register for classes. Be aware of the school deadlines.
  • Before your mission you can apply to the Deseret First Charitable Foundation scholarship, which offers up to $1,000 to purchase mission supplies. Returned missionaries can apply for a $1,000 scholarship to buy a laptop or use for tuition at any school in Utah, based on need
